Korean Dharma Descendant of the Buddha Visits 9/11 Memorial

The 9/11 memorial in New York City was visited on Thursday by the 79th patriarch of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, Jinje Seonsa – this during his first (and perhaps only) visit to the United States. In New York on September 15 to deliver a talk on Ganhwa Seon (Korean Zen), the Korean master wished to pay his respects at the 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero to those who lost their lives. Leading a prayer procession of other monastics, passersby could hear the distinctive sound of the Korean moktak and chanting as master Jinje and the others entered the site.

Master Jinje was in New York yesterday to deliver a talk at New York¡¯s Riverside Church later that evening.
