His Holiness Dharma King Dudjom Rinpoche

His Holiness Dharma King Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje (1904-1987), was the first Supreme Head of the Nyingma Sect in India and well known as a terton. He and his close disciples established many centers in the West. His Holines established Orgyen Cho Dzong, a Yeshe Nyingpo Retreat Center, in the northern Catskills near Greenville, NY. Under the Dharma King's direction, his disciple, Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche, established a traditional Tibetan temple, Tashi Choling, in the Colestin Valley, south of Ashland Oregon and an urban temple and place of refuge, Orgyen Dorje Den, in Alameda, CA. The Khenpo Rinpoches, Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche, founded the Padmasambhava Buddhist Centers with chapters throughout the USA and retreat centers in upstate New York (Padma Samye Ling- The Inconceivable Lotus Land) and Tennessee (Padma Gochen Ling). Lama Tharchin Rinpoche established the Vajrayana Foundation as a non-profit to bring the Dudjom Tersar lineage to the West. The Dudjom Tersar lineage was transmitted directly to Dudjom Rinpoche from Guru Padmasambhava. The Foundation's main retreat center, Pema Osel Ling (Lotus Land of Clear Light), is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California near Corralitos, CA. See BOOKS for the teachings of H. H. Dudjom Rinpoche. Khyabje Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche (1990-) has been recognized as the current incarnation of His Holiness.
